I had the nicest interview experience this summer with Katherine Oktober Matthews, who curates a blog called Riding the Dragon. She is based in Amsterdam, and she reads, talks, and blogs about the arts and the creative process... really interesting stuff that makes my brain tingle! Check out her website at ridingthedragon.life.
I was honored to share some exciting research and practice in contemplative pedagogy and music performance anxiety management with a number of outstanding music students and their professors in Ankara, Aksaray, Diyarbakır, and Antalya this spring. This residency was generously supported by the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey.
Thank you to all the extraordinary musicians I met at Gazi Üniversitesi, Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Dicle Üniversitesi, Akdeniz Üniversitesi, Diyarbakır Fine Arts High School, Ankara Fine Arts High School, and the breathtaking new Ankara Müzik ve Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi!
Thanks so much to Dr. Jessica Johnson, Dr. Noa Kageyama, and Dr. Julie Nagel for their fine work on our panel discussion on mental health.
